Sight Word Center – 4 Steps to an Easy December Process/Product Center

The sight word center has been a center since the beginning. We’ve written it with lots of different instruments, we’ve rolled the dice to write the words, and we’ve practice them with partners.

Now, we’re moving to Read it, Write it.  I’m a big fan of this worksheet. I found it on Pinterest and it was available from so many people, I don’t know who to credit for it or I swear I would.  This is a process/product center. Teach the process, change the product. This set could be used for a Sight Word Center or Writing Center for 5 weeks in a row.

4 Step sight word center

  1. Read – Read the sight word heavy sentence.
  2. Write – Using the sentence as a model, write using sentence mechanics (capitals, spaces, end marks).
  3. Glue – Glue the words in order.
  4. Draw – Draw a picture representation of the sentence.

I made 5 Read it, Write it sheets for the winter (4 winter and 1 New Year’s Eve).  We are introducing or reviewing word wall words in the sentences, so they are practicing the words while they do several activities.

If you like this center, I have a set on TPT with 66 ready-made sheets. My students had a Read it, Write it center all year. Sight Word Read, Write, Glue, Draw Ready-to-Print Worksheets
