5 December Beginning Sound Assessments for Mid-Year Quick Checks

5 Beginning Sound Quick Checks

Beginning Sounds should be firm by mid-year. Providing students with a quick check to assess the sounds, helps the teacher move forward to plan for the new year.

Beginning Sound Quick Check

Here’s a quick worksheet review of beginning sounds.  Each row contains a letter and 3 pictures. When giving the practice test, say the letter and the picture names. For example, “l, leaf, star, vase.” Students color the picture with the beginning sound.

These sheets can be used for mid-year assessments, quick checks or report card testing.

There are five sheets with 5 letters on each. It is a black line master for copying.
