Description

Want a quick and easy way to practice sorting syllables? Want a quick independent activity for small group? Want an easy independent center? Want a fun themes with yummy food? These file folder games are for you! These games can be used with emergent readers.

Each folder comes with a full-color set and a black and white reproducible set. Both sets come with a cover, two inside anchor pages, 1 page of individual matching sound cards, and a recording sheet. The file folder should be laminated for extended use. The individual cards should also be laminated. The file folders can be used during Word Work rotations.

Students will sort and record.

Yummy food themes include:

  • Brilliant Breakfast (1, 2, or 3 syllables)
  • Dreamy Desserts (1, 2, or 3 syllables)
  • Delectable Dinners (1, 2, or 3 syllables)
  • Delicious Drinks (1, 2, or 3 syllables)

  • Icy Ice Cream (1, 2, or 3 syllables)
  • So Good S’mores (1, 2, or 3 syllables)
  • Perfect Pizza (1, 2, 3, or 4 syllables)
  • Very Vegetable (1, 2, 3, or 4 syllables)

These sets can be used with several options:

  • Use Full-Color copies with File Folders
  • Use construction paper instead of file folders
  • Use B&W copies on colored paper
  • Use B&W copies, colored and laminated

BONUS FEATURES

  • Every folder has 3-4 food connections to the syllables. For example, the Bountiful Breakfast – 1 syllable = egg, 2 syllables = waffle, and 3 syllables = cereal.
