Description

Want a quick and easy way to practice matching letter to sound? Want a quick independent activity for small group? Want an easy independent center? Want a fun themes? These file folder games are for you! These games can be used with emergent readers.

Each folder comes with a full-color set and a black and white reproducible set. Both sets come with a cover, two inside anchor pages, 1 page of individual matching sound cards, and a recording sheet. The file folder should be laminated for extended use. The individual cards should also be laminated. The file folders can be used during Word Work rotations.

Students will sort and record.

Animal themes include:

  • Forest Animals (B, M, R, S)
  • Ocean Friends (G, N, P, T)
  • Rain Forest Friends (C, H, L, J)
  • Desert Friends (D, F, K, W)
  • Zoo Friends (Q, V, Y, Z)
  • Arctic Friends (D, P, R, W)
  • Farm Friends (C, G, H, L)
  • Birds of a Feather (F, J, K, S)
  • Wetlands Friends (B, M,N, T)
  • Fishy Friends (Q, V, Y, Z)

These sets can be used with several options:

  • Use Full-Color copies with File Folders
  • Use construction paper instead of file folders
  • Use B&W copies on colored paper
  • Use B&W copies, colored and laminated

BONUS FEATURES

  • Every folder has 4 animal connections to the sounds. For example, the Forest Friends folder contains B – bear, M – moose, R – Raccoon, and S – Squirrel.
  • Students can learn new animals while they match letter sounds. For example, the Desert Friends folder contains D – Donkey, F – Fennec Fox, K – Kangaroo Rat, and W – Wolf.
