Phonemic Awareness is such an important foundation skill. Students with a strong ability to blend phonemes are quick decoders. These activities will help your students practice phoneme blending. They will orally segment, segment matching letter to sound, then segment while writing. This set will help with practice, intervention, and assessment.
Set 7 contains 2, 3, and 4 phonemes, au/aw
There are 32 cards, and 3 activities per card!
- Part 1: Segment 3 Phonemes: Students can be given a card with a cvc short vowel picture. They should segment each sound while touching a dot.
- Part 2: Segment 3 Phonemes while Tracing: Students proceed to trace the letter while they segment phonemes.
- Part 3: Segment 3 Phonemes while Writing: Students write the letter to correspond with the sound as they segment the phonemes.
- THEN, students blend the sounds to say the cvc word.
This set is created with ink-saving black and white masters. You can copy the pages on colored paper for a great pop of color.
