Description
Want a fun end of the year center? What to add the excitement of graduation. This is it. The graduates and podiums are used to build CVC words. This center can be used daily for 5 days or weekly for 5 weeks. Students will build CVC words and writing about it.
For the daily center, copy one sheet daily for each table, cut apart, and give each child a recording sheet. Each day, students will take an answer sheet and color the graduate on the card to show which set they are using, and write the CVC word for each picture on the answer sheet next to the corresponding number.
For the weekly center, copy each sheet on a different color, cut apart, and put in a resealable bag. Each week for 5 weeks, students will take a bag and an answer sheet. They will color the graduate to show which set they are using, and write the CVC word for each picture on the answer sheet next to the corresponding number.
The center can be differentiated by adding vowels when necessary or creating different levels of writing for students. Some students can write the words, some can write sentences with the cvc words, some can write a story about one of the words, and some can use as many words in a story as possible.
This activity can be used in centers, small group instruction or intervention groups.
