Description
Are students having difficulty decoding words with endings? Using this cards, students “chop the ending” and decode using the known, then add the endings back to form clear understanding.
There are 4 activities in this set.
- Anchor Charts – The lesson starts with anchor charts and endings lessons. There are 4 options for anchor charts
- Ending Sort Cards – Can be used for two different activities. First, they should be used to simply sort according to endings.
- Chop the Ending Cards with Pictures – Students will use the cards to locate the endings with picture clues. They will cover the ending and read the word without the ending…then add the ending.
- Chop the Ending Cards without Pictures – Using the same cards as the sort, students will practice locating the ending, covering the ending, reading the base word and reading the whole word.
I have included 80 cards in both full-color and ink-saving black and white. There are also directions and anchor lessons for endings.
This can be used in small group instruction or intervention.
